Do Most Canadians Just Not Care About Corruption?

Shouldn’t we be fighting for a better Canada not a worse one?

Re-printed without permission.

The past 11 years in Canadian politics have been an avalanche of decline.

As one woman said to me, when you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Canadians are spending over half their income on basic necessities.

Food bank usage is the highest in history.

Our GDP has sharply declined, meaning your dollar doesn’t get you as much as it used to.

Over 40% of Canadian manufacturers, which is responsible for almost 2 million jobs are considering leaving Canada.

There’s no accountability from leadership, there’s blatant corruption and countless conflicts of interest.

Let’s take the recent condo bail out by Prime Minister Mark Carney, where he’s giving $3.2 billion to developers because they overpriced their condos.

Why is he using taxpayer money to bail out developers? Shouldn’t that be their problem to solve?

It’s now been revealed that these same developers are donors to Mark Carney and have insider connections to Mark Carney’s Brookfield company.

And now Mark Carney‘s majority Liberal government has allowed Liberals to shut down debate in ethics committee.

Even the NDP agree with Conservatives on this one. It is blatant corruption. Canadians who work hard are paying for Liberal friends and insiders all while people can’t even afford a house.

Then you have back door deals with Liberals who have enticed Conservative and NDP MP’s to cross the floor or have been handed a Senate positions.

Isn’t democracy supposed to be about what the people voted for? Clearly we need laws that prevent elected officials from accepting offers that violate the voters choice.

The Liberal government has jeopardized Canada’s prosperity and opportunity and yet headlines and Liberal pundits continue to say that Conservatives are the problem.

How are conservatives the problem when they’re not in power?

This is such a classic example of an abusive relationship where the abuser has effectively created messaging and a narrative that they’re not the problem. They’ve convinced you that you’re the problem. It’s called gaslighting and it’s very effective.

Maybe Conservatives need to change strategy, but where is the public scrutiny for the people in charge? Why are the majority of Canadians ok with corruption and the decline of their country?

Every day I talk to people, and everyone’s in a different place in terms of their relationship with the Liberals aka the Government.

Some say, I hope Canada implodes because voters are so stupid to keep voting for the same people who keep hurting them.

Some say well, it could be worse.

Some say it just takes time to fix things.

Some say I’m done, I’m moving and leaving this country.

Some say, I don’t like Conservatives more than I don’t like Liberals.

Some say what’s the point everyone’s the same who cares my vote doesn’t matter.

Some say, I don’t understand why we keep voting for the same thing and expecting something different?

Some believe that our elections are fake, and that people cheat to win.

Humans are interesting. They experience things differently, but it’s not usually until they are suffering do they change their behaviour.

Even if you don’t read or watch the media, aren’t you feeling the effects?  Has your life gotten better? Are your kids doing OK? Can they find work? Can they find a house? Does your community feel safer? How can you as a voter be happy with the people in charge?

It truly is frustrating and as somebody who worked inside of parliament and saw behind the curtain, once you see it, you can’t see it. I’m just not sure why so many people choose not to see it.

So next time somebody wants to tell you that Conservatives or Pierre Poilievre is the problem I suggest you ask, but who is in charge? How can the people who are NOT in charge be the problem? Why are you not criticizing and demanding better from the people who are in charge?

Why are so many Canadians tolerating and allowing decline and corruption?

Shouldn’t we be fighting for a better Canada not a worse one?

Distraction is an ancient technique for a reason.

Don’t take the bait.

Liberal policies are the problem not the solution.
