Guys, I think we owe the Elbows Up crowd an apology.

We doubted them.

We said electing Mark Carney because he was supposedly the sophisticated economic genius who could “handle Trump” might not work.

But no. They knew better.

So lead us, guys. Seriously. You won. Your guy is Prime Minister. Show us the master plan.

Oh… the Americans are hammering Canada with tariffs again?

Okay. Part of the strategy.

Trade negotiations collapse?

Also strategy.

Canadian businesses get another round of uncertainty?

Obviously strategy.

And now comes my favourite part... whenever an agreement with the Americans starts looking possible, suddenly getting a deal is suspicious because (brace yourself) it might benefit Americans too.

Yes. That's generally how trade works.

Canada gets something. America gets something. Everybody goes home claiming victory.

But the Elbows Up movement backed itself into a hilarious political corner. They spent so long portraying virtually any compromise with Trump as surrender that Carney now has to negotiate while an entire chunk of his own base is waiting to scream “HE CAVED!” the second America benefits from anything.

So what's the alternative?

No deal?

More tariffs?

More uncertainty?

Canadian workers and businesses absorbing the damage indefinitely so Liberal boomers can maintain their emotional support slogan?

Apparently that's “standing up for Canada.”

And when the negotiations fail, we're now told that is a victory too because Carney “didn't cave.”

Amazing.

They've invented a political philosophy where every outcome proves them right.

Deal? Carney is a brilliant negotiator.

No deal? Carney stood his ground.

Tariffs? Trump's fault.

Economic pain? Necessary sacrifice.

Compromise? Capitulation.

Failure? Leadership.

At what point are we allowed to ask for an actual fucking result?

Because younger Canadians don't get to pay their mortgages with “Elbows Up.” Businesses can't make payroll with Liberal pride. Workers don't give a shit who won the Twitter argument when their livelihood is caught in the middle.

You elected the economic mastermind.

You told everyone he was the man for this exact moment.

So enough slogans. Enough excuses. Enough grading him on intentions.

Lead.

Get Canada a good deal.

And if your definition of a “good deal” is one where America receives absolutely nothing in return, congratulations...

You've finally discovered why you're not the one negotiating.
